The Tri/TT Bike Build: 2012

The journey of the endurance athlete is equally matched in the time it takes to procure the equipment needed.  This is true for my bike build, which has taken nearly 3 months to complete because of issues sourcing the frame, parts, and the funds.

Essentially this build is not necessarily the dream bike, but an unusual build of sorts.  It uses a completely blank from from my friend's bike company in Austin, and a 90% build of a SRAM RED groupset to complete it.  If I was really going to do the full beans, I would have done the full SRAM RED v2012.

It's been nearly 5 years since I built my last personal bike, so I got a refresher course on all the frustration of building a bike without a bike shop.  Missing parts, specialty tools, and no bike stand to help out with.  But hey, it builds character, right?

Regardless, the only thing left is the pedals and shoes, and then the bike fit.  Unfortunately, the Austin 70.3 is just way too close for me to do it, so I'll have to skip.

Coming up fast is the Austin Marathon, which is of much greater importance to me.  So the focus is running for now with a bit of swim and bike thrown in for the off season.
